WHO:

Community Organizations, Advocates and leaders from East Baltimore (EJ Community Board), the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA), Staff and Faculty from the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health (JHSPH).

WHEN:

The EJ Partnership came together in January 2003 with funding from the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences.

WHY:

To bring researchers and community together for sustained dialogue and partnership;

To address public health problems that impact East Baltimore residents by building a partnership of community based organizations that educate residents, advocate for environmental justice, and represent the East Baltimore community's interests to governmental agencies, academic institutions, and private organizations.
